At the meeting today, I passed around and distributed stuff for the Houston Indie Book Festival, which will be on April 2, 2011 at Menil Park. If you would like to see digital copies of this stuff, let me know, and I'll forward you the information sent to me by the HIBF people.
If you would like to attend and help out at the CLAW table for this event, please let me know. I got a few responses at the meeting today (and a few maybes, so consider this a friendly reminder to confirm for sure :) ). Also, I'd like your opinion on CLAW t-shirts, preferably bearing the CLAW logo. We'd like to gauge a want first before committing to them. So, if you're interested in t-shirts, let me know a color preference (we'll do this democratically), as long as it's not white (too see-through) or black (might be hot and sunny that day). If we get enough interest, we'll go ahead and get 'em. Please try to let me know about the t-shirts before too long.
It's important to note, however, that you will need to pay for the t-shirt if you want one (CLAW will not be making any sort of profit off of this).
Also, please remember to send out your works for review. It is much appreciated.
And finally, here's a link to a blog post written by a science fiction/fantasy author that does a really good job explaining showing versus telling in writing: http://archonate.blogspot.com/2011/03/showing-not-telling.html
I'll see you all in two weeks, at the next CLAW meeting!
P.S., please let me know if you would like to opt-out of these notices.
